In our interview, she shares her evolved approach to finding moments of stillness within the noise, and how intentional rest has become her strategy for sustainable success.

EVENING FOUNDATIONS

Q. How has your evening wind-down routine evolved alongside your growing business?

Building HLL Creative and growing my personal brand into a globally recognised force has been an exhilarating, all-consuming journey, one that, at times, has blurred the line between passion and exhaustion. 

As my career has evolved, so too has my understanding of true rest. I used to see sleep as something I could sacrifice in pursuit of success. Now, I view it as a strategy, a non-negotiable part of sustaining my vision, energy, and creativity.

My wind-down routine is about intentionality. The transition from high-performance mode to deep rest is essential, and I now protect it fiercely. I step away from screens, dim the lights, and embrace rituals that signal to my body that it’s time to slow down. Breath work has also become a powerful tool. In moments of burnout, I’ve learned that exhaling fully, not just physically, but emotionally, is where true restoration happens. 

More than anything, I’ve learned that true success isn’t about how much you do, but how well you sustain the energy to keep creating at the highest level.

MORNING FOUNDATIONS

Q. You've shared that 'slowing down to speed up' is something you deeply value. What morning rituals help you stay present before diving into your demanding day?

Mornings are where I set the tone for the kind of day I want to create. 

I used to wake up and immediately reach for my phone, diving straight into emails, analytics, and the ever-moving machine of social media. But I’ve realised that how you begin your morning is how you dictate your energy for the entire day. Now, I wake up early, before the world starts demanding my attention. 

Movement is my foundation, I’ll either go for a run, do stairs or a hiit workout to get some serious, happy, and powerful endorphins.

Journaling has also become a key part of my morning ritual. I have a few topics that I expand on each day, or at least as much as I can. Often when I write I become laser focused and lose myself in my writing. Therefore, I’ll do this on days where I have a little extra time. And of course, caffeine, but make it slow. My morning matcha isn’t just about the caffeine; it’s a moment of stillness. A moment to sip, reflect, and embody the woman I’m building before stepping into the world and leading my business with clarity and strength.

DIGITAL BOUNDARIES

Q: How do you protect your mental space in the constant noise of social media?

The digital world is relentless, it never sleeps, never slows, and never stops demanding more. As someone who creates for this space, I’ve had to be incredibly intentional about carving out moments of true stillness in a world that thrives on noise.

Writing is one tool, but I’ve also embraced sensory resets—rituals that pull me back into my body and out of my mind. This could be as simple as going for a long run in nature, immersing myself in nature’s silence, or calling my Mom or Dad to have a deep conversation or simply booking a flight and getting out of my comfort. I love to travel and use moving around (bouncing around) as a way to never let the heaviness of the Sydney hustle bring me down.

Another major shift has been who I allow into my mental space. Energy is everything, and I fiercely protect who I engage with, both online and offline. Social media may be my world, but I ensure that I detach myself from this. To me my social media, especially my personal social media is a personality, it’s a business and that way I can detach myself from the online world.

NON-NEGOTIABLES

Q. What are your self-care ?

Self-care is not a luxury—it’s the foundation of longevity, creativity, and impact. At this level of business, performance, and visibility, protecting my energy is the ultimate power move. My non-negotiables are fierce, and I hold them as sacred as any business meeting or creative shoot.

Movement every day. Whether it’s running, stairs, weights, or a walk by the ocean—energy moves, or it stagnates. I choose to move.

Boundaries with digital consumption. If I’m constantly consuming, I’m not creating. I schedule daily no-screen hours to protect my mental clarity.

Skincare as ritual, not routine. It’s not about vanity, it’s about the act of intentional touch, grounding myself, and honouring my body.

Saying ‘no’ with confidence. Not every opportunity, project, or collaboration aligns. If it doesn’t serve my vision, energy, or long-term goals, it’s a no.

Moments of absolute silence. Whether it’s sitting in the sun without distraction, journaling, or walking alone, true self-care is learning to be with yourself, without external noise.

At the core of it all, self-care is about building a life I don’t need to escape from. It’s about knowing that I can be both powerful and well-rested, ambitious and at peace. That’s where the real magic happens.
